Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

One of the hardest things for me over the years has been finding a foundation that matches my skin.  I've always had extremely fair skin and because of this I've also had an extremely hard time finding a foundation to match my tone.  I've found that NARS Siberia is a pretty spot on match for my skin, but runs a little too rich for my blood price-wise ($42 at Sephora).  It's definitely worth it if you're in the mood for a splurge and I'll do a more in depth review soon, but if you're in the market for something a little less expensive, Fit Me foundation by Maybelline in 110 is pretty close in shade and much less painful on the pocket ($6.48 at Walmart).  Keep in mind, I had a hard time hunting down shade 110 in my local pharmacies (most seem to start at shade 115), but both Ulta and Walmart have 110 if you have one or both of those in your area!

Maybelline's somewhat new makeup line offers 18 shades of foundation with corresponding powder, concealer, and blush/bronzer.
I will admit when I first saw the commercials I was skeptical because most drug store makeup lines do not carry foundations nearly light enough for my skin so I didn't even try it.  After a little while and some research online, I decided it couldn't hurt and worst comes to worst it was only $7 or so down the drain if it didn't work.  So I went to Walmart and purchased the foundation and matching powder.  The 110 concealer looked a little too yellow for me so I skipped it.

When I got the makeup home and gave it a try, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it matched.  It's slightly more sticky and dewy in the texture than the NARS foundation, and it is a little thinner and wetter upon application, so I suggest using a duo fiber brush (I used a Sigma F50) to stipple it onto the skin if you have one available.  I used a Sigma F30 large powder brush to apply the powder over the foundation because for me I found the puff to be too concentrated and add too much of the yellow undertone to my skin.  I don't tend to have oily skin but if you do this might be a little tough to work with since it's already pretty sticky.

Overall I would definitely recommend the Maybelline Fit Me line to anyone, especially to any ladies who have a hard time finding fair foundation shades.

Thank you for stopping by!

Hello!

Thank you for finding your way to my (as of right now) barely existent blog.  I'm a self-taught makeup fiend and I would love very much to share with you some of the fun things I have learned over the years, especially how to work with very fair skin and to make it stand out in an overly bronzed and tan world.  I hope you'll stick with me while I build up this page and add tutorials, reviews, etc.

Thank you!
